The year that was

The season is almost finished, just a couple more events in the UK to do, and it’s always good to reflect on how things went so we can hopefully learn and think about what we want to change.

The 2018 Nürburgring season was certainly our best ever. Best in terms of organisation, best by way of sales and we really feel like we made some progress on the quality of the events. Again, like the last three seasons, each one of the events sold out completely about 6 weeks in advance. This was both a blessing and a curse, for while selling out leaves more time to complete the administration for the events, it also means disappointing customers, sometimes friends too – and that can be hard to do. Track time at the Nürburgring in precious in every way, and we know it’s frustrating when you can’t get access to your favourite track day event.

Talking of events, each and every track day we ran on the Nürburgring was almost perfect, with an almost unbelievable two straight days on the Ringmeisters Prime event without a single red flag. Even the regular DN days in May and September were remarkable for their low stoppage rates, a testament to both the quality of entrant and our attempt to take fewer cars. A great template, and one which we fully intend to take forward to our Nürburgring track days in 2019.
